What is Parkinson’s Disease?

There are a lot of people who want to know what Parkinson’s disease is but don’t understand the diagnosis of the disorder. The reason that a person has Parkinson’s is because of the damage to the brain cells in the brain that happens from the disease. When this happens to the brain cells then the patient has trouble getting things around their body that they should be able to do.

There is currently no scientific explanation for exactly why this condition occurs. It is a degenerative disease that causes tremors and stiffness as a result of the degeneration of the neurons in the brain that occur naturally as you get older. Treatment for Parkinson’s includes physical therapy, medication and sometimes brain surgery.

For those living with the disease, care might be required to be able to stay at home. For more information about Live in Care Bristol, visit a site like Live in Care, suppliers of Live in Care Bristol.

People with Parkinson’s have difficulty with their motor movements. They may also have problems with talking and muscle tremors, particularly in the hands. These are all symptoms that will occur as you age but are more pronounced in someone with Parkinson’s. In order to help your doctor treat your Parkinson’s, you will need to go to see them at least once a year. It can take years of treatment to see your condition improve but there is a good chance of maintaining a comfortable life once receiving treatment and care.
